Live Project - Testing 1,2

Director: Sarah Maher
Camera Op: Ryan Brown
Light Ops: Beth Taylor, Janice Lee
Models: Brad Sampson, Beth Taylor
Help from: Yiannis Vougiouikas, Connor Welsh, Jamie Jones

This morning we booked out the studio to test and film some shots with the roller skates and also a skateboard that Janice brought. We also booked out the smoke machine and red heads and gels for that disco vibe.

We experimented with different gels and positions for a while on the red heads and I particularly liked the blue key light with a green and red fill light and a orange (with scrim) back light. The results are very bright and colourful and made everything have three shadows; green, blue and purple.

We got Brad in to ride the skateboard but he struggled with the size of it and wasn't what he was used to, but the shots still looked good. We also experimented with the smoke and see what looked good- we tried him riding the smoke and skating through the smoke. All of which look awesome. We then got a few of Brad in the roller skates.

We then did some close ups of Beth wearing the roller skates, and used the "pooper scooper" for some close up tracking shots. I wanted Beth to go fast at one point so she skated rather than walked, so I used a boom pole to drag her across the floor. We fell over once so not too bad (I still have a bruise, thanks Beth :P )

Then we did some misc close ups of all the props and some balloons with glow sticks inside. We also spelt out the band's initials (and also what they sign their emails as) in glow sticks. We then got in some helping hands to throw the balloons into shot so it looked like a disco party.

We got some pretty awesome shots that I am proud of. We can definitely use them as fillers in the edit. We have also saved so much time by doing this and it's one less thing to worry about.
